Compagnia della Tartaruga is a social co-operative company conceived to be in the meantime a “profit” start-up, creating real, stable jobs for young people with disabilities. We have designed an activity capable of granting participants the opportunity of expressing their positive potentials while minimizing the problematics linked to their specific characteristics and succeeding therefore in the goal of profitably working.
The Company runs two different projects, both employing people with intellectual disabilities:
“La Sosta della Tartaruga” is a central Genoa high level lodging structure, featuring four rooms and one apartment and offering tourist accommodation and breakfast. At the moment it employs five permanent workers (three of them with disability) and one trainee.
“I Pasticci della Tartaruga” is a starting phase pastry workshop making gluten-free products. It is now training three young people with disabilities.
