The history of this restaurant, in the street Gazzera Alta in Mestre, has been initiated 72 years ago by the Favaretto family. In the course of time the devotion and passion for the culinary art have been handed down from father to son. Last year the restaurant has been renamed Baccalàdivino. The director, since about 14 years, is Franco Favaretto, whose culinary gift has brought him important recognitions. The specialty of the place, which divides into pizzeria and restaurant is obviously the dried cod. About 3 years ago a gastronomic twinning between Mestre and Lofoten islands (Norwegian islands considered the birth-place of the codfish) has been established. So that the well known dishes of the chef in Mestre are proposed to the Norwegian colleagues, while to the clients of the restaurant in Mestre a complete menu of codfish coming from these islands, is proposed.
