ASSURD pub, set up in 2013 in Potenza, is managed by the social (non-profit) cooperative “Riccodentro”. Two social workers, after ten years of experience in Associazione Italiana Persone Down, decided to start up a pub employing Down’s Syndrome people. Nowadays one person with DS has a steady job there and other three people alternate in table service according the pubs’ needs. Assurd offers a typical home-made bread, pizza, delicious hand-made pasta, soups and salads . The pub has got as well a lots of handicraft beers. The main pub’s purpose is to offer fresh food made with genuine and local ingredients.
